Luis Garcia      Pre ISL Final Interview

Interview ~ Star Sports 14/12/19

Reaching the final:

Luis Garcia: We have been very consistant during the whole season in terms of defence.

We knew that not conceding goals against Goa was very important. So we arrived to

Goa thinking that we can not concede a goal. We will have our chances. We had a few,

not many. It was a very close game. In the end penalties gave us the chance to play the

final.

Playing under coach Habas:

Luis Garcia: Against Goa I had to change because I was injured and then something happend with him. We were scared you know, and we didn't know what was happening with him. Finally Habas is feeling well, and he'll be there for the finals. He is very passionate in terms of talking with the players when we are working. You have to train 100 % and you can't relax in these short competitions. It's been great to train with him, we've learned so many things. He brought us to where we are.

Lessons from 2005 Champions League final:

Luis Garcia: 90 minutes is a long time, so you have plenty with time to score a goal to decide a game. Finals is a game where anything can happen.

Facing Kerala Blasters:

Luis Garcia: I think they are a very compact team. They have a good defence, they have good midfielders, they have players who can score goals. They have many things that we have to take care off.

Winning the ISL:

Luis Garcia: It has been hard work during these three months. I was retired three months ago, so I came from retirement, played this first ISL. Having the arriver here is an amazing achivement and the trophy would mean a lot for me and the club of course. We have the chance and it would be a great one for me and my career.
