Tell us about you early playing career:
Chowdhury: I started playing football from my school days. I used to play as a
striker. One day our goalkeeper didn't show up. They asked me to play as a
goalkeeper, because the team was already full and I was no good striker. No one
took me in their team. I felt like I could be a goalkeeper, then I chose to be one.
When I went to the Tata Football Academy I was chosen to play with the
under-16 World Cup Qualifier. When I was first called to the Indian team I was
really happy.
Tell us your thought about Atletico de Kolkata:
Chowdhury: I think I was destined to play for this team. Maybe that is why they were at no.5 in the draft, which is why I came to Atletico de Kolkata. I wanted to come here as I was away for a long time. I am very happy to join Atletico de Kolakta - I can spend time with my family. Kolkata is a place where people are crazy about football. I feel I'm very luck to play for Kolkata.
What about the Madrid training camp?
Chowdhury: When I heard that we were going to Spain to practice at Atletico Madrids facilities I was very happy. The training was good, the weather was brilliant. I had an entirely different experience. When we walked into the ground during the Atletico Madrid match it was like a dream come true for me.
