BISWAJIT SAHA
PRE-ISL
Born in 1987, Biswajit Saha started playing football actively at school level. After impressing with local sides Milan Samity and George Telegraph in the Calcutta Football League, Biswajit Saha drew offers from Kolkata’s big clubs. He opted for Mohun Bagan, as his parents were big supporters of the club.
The coach Karim Bencherifa became an important mentor for the young left-back, and that's also the reason Saha followed his manager to Salgaocar in 2011, and then returned along with Bencherifa to Mohun Bagan again, in 2012, for a second spell at the club.
He only remained one season at the club before he was loaned to Eagles F.C. of Kerala on loan for the 2013-14 season.
ISL
Biswajit Saha was picked by Atlético de Kolkata during the Domestic Player Draft on July 22, 2014 for a fee of 26 lakh. The reason for this was probably partly because Saha played with Kolkata's assistant manager Jose Barreto in Mohun Bagan 2009-2011, and therefore Barreto had good knowledges about the left-back.
There were still many who was confused by the choice of Saha, as he last season played in the Indian second league, and was therefore believed to not maintain the level of ISL.
Fortunately, Saha proved the exact opposite and was selected the team's first choice at left-back. He played every match in the league, except for a run of three games he missed due to injury. His injury problems haunted him also during the play-offs, and therefore missed the semi-finals and the final match.
All in all he made eleven apperances for Atlético de Kolkata.
POST-ISL
On December 28, 2014, Biswajit Saha signed for I-League club Sporting Club de Goa.
